Draft for review
Privacy Policy (draft)
Draft for review. This is not the Privacy Policy. It lists what the finished policy has to explain. It is not a statement of legal rights, and it does not claim that every practice below is already live.
Account and profile
The finished policy has to describe the account and the profile: email, name, date of birth, gender, and the details a member chooses to add, such as a bio, work, education, height, interests, and preferences.
Future children intentions
Whether a member wants children in the future is optional. It can appear on an expanded profile. It is never required, and it is not shown on the main discovery card.
Location
The service stores a location so it can show people nearby and measure distance. Other members see a distance. They do not see a street address on the profile. The finished policy still has to state how precise that location is and how long it is kept.
Photos
Members add photos to a profile. Profile photos are for adults only. The finished policy has to describe how photos are stored, shown, and removed.
Messages
Members in a match can send messages. The finished policy has to describe how those messages are used and how deletion applies to them.
Moderation
Members can report and block other members. Report reasons include inappropriate photos, harassment, spam, an underage person, having children, and other. The finished policy has to describe how reports are reviewed and what is retained.
Verification
Selfie verification is part of the design for First Light and Early Risers. The finished policy has to describe it. This draft does not claim that verification is already available.
Purchases
The membership design includes a complimentary First Light place, a one-time $10 Early Risers purchase, and a $7 monthly subscription with no free trial. The finished policy has to describe purchase records held by OnePlusOne and by Apple or Google. This draft does not claim that billing is already available.
Diagnostics
If the apps collect crash or diagnostic data, the finished policy has to name what is collected and why. This page does not list vendors. That list has to match the apps that actually ship.
Other companies
The finished policy has to name every company that receives member information, including hosting, the Apple App Store, Google Play, and any push-notification service in use. This draft does not invent that list.
Retention and deletion
Deleting an account removes the profile and matches from the dating experience, ends OnePlusOne access, and starts deletion of account data. The retention schedule — what is deleted, what is kept, and for how long — is not published yet. It has to be written before this draft can become the Privacy Policy.
What deletion does to access, matches, and founding benefits is explained on Delete account.
Privacy requests
The finished policy has to explain how to make a privacy request. A public contact address is not published yet. See Contact.
